Join Ball Pit Motorsports and Cheese Ball for the APEX Enduro, September 5–6.

$450 per driver, per day

Each driver will receive one approximately 1-hour endurance race stint in Cheese Ball. Drivers may participate Saturday, Sunday, or both days, subject to availability and Ball Pit Motorsports approval.

About APEX Enduro

APEX Enduro is designed to make real endurance racing accessible without requiring a massive team, huge budget or years of wheel-to-wheel experience.

The format puts multiple drivers in one car for a full endurance race, adding the parts of racing you don’t get during a normal track session: driver changes, pit strategy, traffic management, consistency and working together to get the car to the finish.

APEX uses power-to-weight classes to create understandable competition across different cars, while emphasizing clean racing and zero-tolerance for contact. The goal isn’t simply to turn one fast lap — it’s to manage the car, traffic and race for the entire event and bring it home. (Apex HPDE)

For Ball Pit Motorsports, that means a group of Professional Ball Handlers sharing Cheese Ball, taking turns behind the wheel and collectively trying not to turn a 1994 Miata into considerably more parts than it started with.

Driver Responsibilities

Drivers are responsible for:

• Arriving on time and participating in all required driver meetings and briefings.
• Meeting APEX Enduro driver eligibility requirements. A racing license or previous wheel-to-wheel race experience is not required, but drivers must have the appropriate advanced track-driving experience for the event.
• Providing their own properly rated personal safety equipment, including helmet, driving suit, gloves, shoes and any other equipment required by the event rules.
• Following all APEX, track and Ball Pit Motorsports safety procedures and instructions.
• Driving within their abilities and treating the car, fellow competitors, corner workers and crew with respect.
• Immediately reporting any contact, mechanical concerns or unusual vehicle behavior to the team.
• Signing all required event, track and Ball Pit Motorsports waivers and driver agreements.

What Ball Pit Motorsports Provides

Your $450/day driver fee includes:

• One approximately 1-hour endurance race stint
• Use of Cheese Ball, our race-prepared Spec Miata
• Race entry and team participation
• Race preparation of the vehicle
• Fuel and normal race consumables
• Tires and brakes
• Pit and crew support
• Driver-change coordination
• Team communications and race strategy
• Mechanical support throughout the event
• Ball Pit Motorsports team swag
• Official temporary status as a Professional Ball Handler

Basically, you bring your safety gear and your questionable decision-making. We’ll handle the race car.

Ball Pit Motorsports / Team Owner Responsibilities

Ball Pit Motorsports is responsible for providing Cheese Ball in a safe, properly prepared and race-ready condition at the beginning of the event.

The team will manage vehicle preparation, scheduled maintenance, normal mechanical support, fuel, tires, brakes and other normal racing consumables necessary to operate the car during the event.

Motorsports inherently involves mechanical failures, incidents and circumstances outside the team’s control. While Ball Pit Motorsports will make every reasonable effort to keep Cheese Ball on track, completion of a scheduled stint or race cannot be guaranteed in the event of mechanical failure, accident, weather, event stoppage or other circumstances outside the team’s reasonable control.

Driver Approval

Driver spots are limited and subject to Ball Pit Motorsports approval.

APEX recommends a multi-driver team format, and Ball Pit Motorsports will assemble the driver lineup with an emphasis on experience, consistency and putting together a team capable of safely completing the race.

The priority is simple:

Bring the car home, have fun, and try not to make Cheese Ball any more Swiss than it already is.
